The ability to make animals do your bidding. Individual animals can be whispered successfully only once each. If the animal is neutral, it may become charmed and follow you around. If the animal is hostile, it may become neutral or leave the area.

Charmed animals provide a +1 bonus to an attribute. The bonus ends if the animal is killed or dismissed. You can have an animal companion for each member of your party. Multiple animals of the same type following one character do not provide a stacking bonus.
Certain animal followers, like dogs and the giant rat, will automatically attack in combat and are thus difficult to keep alive, as their low hitpoints and armor means they have little in the way of survivability.

- Two dogs will be added to the exterior of the Ranger Citadel if the Rangers choose the Kiss Ass option when parlaying with Spyke at the Radio Tower, which causes him and his friends to head off to join the Desert Rangers.
- Multiple cows can be rescued from rampaging rabbits in the East Fields at the Agricultural Center.
- Four cows can be found in the Infected farm.
- A giant rat emerges from a statue near the Meeting Hall at the Rail Nomads Camp if the Animal Whisperer skill is used on it.
- Three goats reside a ways north of the entrance to the Happy Valley at the Prison, near Red Baychowski.
