Attach the repeater units to two radio towers is a quest in Wasteland 2.

Overview[]

The Rangers need help triangulating the signals coming from California and pin-pointing their origin. They need three antennae to achieve this.

Walkthrough[]

  • This is essentially the framing quest for the first act of the game. It's closely related to the Help Highpool or Ag Center quest, where you have to decide which community to save and which to sacrifice. At Highpool, you have to fight the Wrecking Crew and then save the reservoir. At Ag Center, you put up with a variety of mutated beasts, humans, and exploding pods that infect you with a deadly plague.
  • The community sacrificed will still have to be visited to confirm that the antenna there was indeed destroyed. Vargas will order you to salvage components and move on, starting the next quest. The sole exception is when you manage to destroy both, which leaves you with only one option: Rail Nomad, where you have to fix up the antenna. In that case, you'll have to deal with the Atchison/Topekan conflict and Kekkabah, to gain the power coupler that will allow you to restore the radio.
  • Either way, all roads lead to Damonta through the prison.

Reward[]

  • Experience

Journal entries[]

  • General Vargas has ordered us to take the repeater units to the Agricultural Center and Highpool and attach them to their radio towers. We should talk to Matt Forrestal at Ag Center and Security Chief Bergin in Highpool about using the towers.
  • We have attached one repeater unit to the dish in the Agricultural Center. The signal is coming in strong.
  • We have attached one repeater unit to the radio tower in Highpool. The signal is coming in strong.
  • The second radio tower is destroyed and beyond repair. General Vargas has suggested we head to the old prison, as the locals there may know how to get to Damonta, where we should find another radio tower. Unfortunately, the prison is Red Skorpion territory now, so there could be trouble.
  • Now we need to get to the radio tower in Highpool, and hope it is still intact.
  • Now we need to get to the radio tower at the Ag Center, and hope it is still intact.
  • The Ag Center satellite dish is wrecked beyond repair. We need to return to Highpool and make sure we can get at least one radio up and running. Vargas also asked us to strip the dish of useable parts before heading out.
  • The Highpool radio tower is wrecked beyond repair. We need to return to Ag Center and make sure we can get at least one radio up and running. Vargas also asked us to strip the tower of useable parts before heading out.
  • The Highpool radio tower is wrecked beyond repair. We need to get to Ag Center and see if their satellite dish is in better shape. Vargas also asked us to strip the tower of useable parts before heading out.
  • We were able to find a functional transmitter in the broken Highpool radio.
  • We blew it. Ag Center and its satellite dish are destroyed too. Vargas has asked us to strip the dish of any usable parts, then head to the Rail Nomads Camp. He's hoping we can use what we salvaged from here and Highpool to repair their broken down old tower. Too bad that still leaves us one short.

  • We located the old radio tower at the Rail Nomads Camp. It's in a pretty sorry state, but we should be able to repair it with parts from Ag Center and Highpool. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any power. Maybe one of the locals can help us hook it up.
  • Master Kekkahbah, leader of the Topekans, has a generator that could power the radio tower. Unfortunately, he won't let us use it until his conflict with the Atchisons is resolved. He doesn't want us sticking our noses in his business, but it's unlikely that the war will end any time soon without help. Guess it's time to get into local politics.
  • Kekkahbah gave us the generator coupler to hook up the radio. Just need to attach it to the generator out back and we're good to go.
  • With power flowing to the radio, we've only got to attach a repeater to its receiver.
  • The Rail Nomads' radio is live and broadcasting at full strength, but we still need one more radio. General Vargas has suggested we head to the old prison, as the locals there may know how to get to Damonta, where we should find another radio tower. Unfortunately, the prison is Red Skorpion territory now, so there could be trouble.
  • With Kekkahbah dead, we can take the coupler off his corpse.
  • Got the coupler off Kekkahbah's body. Now we just have to power up the radio by attaching the coupler to the generator out back.
  • The last distress call from Kathy Lawson sounded dire. It's likely that Ag Center is destroyed. Unclear what condition the satellite dish is in.
  • Sean Bergin's last communication from Highpool sounded desperate. We'll need to investigate to find out the condition of their radio tower.
  • Our mission is to attach a repeater unit to the radio tower at Rail Nomads Camp. It is likely in disrepair, so we may need to fix it first.
  • Our mission is to attach a repeater unit to the radio tower at the Agricultural Center. We should talk to Matt Forrestal about using his equipment.
  • Our mission is to attach a repeater unit to the radio tower at Highpool. We should talk to Mayor Vickstrom about using his equipment.
  • Looks like the satellite dish at Ag Center - one of the radio towers that Ace was going to attach a repeater unit to - is completely destroyed. Once we've acquired the repeaters, we may need new orders. For now, we just need to salvage any parts we can from the Ag Center dish.
  • Looks like the crane at Highpool - one of the radio towers that Ace was going to attach a repeater unit to - is completely destroyed. Once we've acquired the repeaters, we may need new orders. For now, we just need to salvage any parts we can from the Highpool tower.
  • We found a coupler off Kekkahbah's body a while ago. Now we just have to go get it and use it power up the radio by attaching the coupler to the generator out back.
