The Brakeman (2041 - 2090)[1] is the leader of the Rail Nomads.

A member of the Atchison clan, he is actually a pretty well educated man, possessing more technical knowledge than the average nomad. However, he is regarded as a fool by many of the Nomads, as he insists on dabbling in 'arcane' matters, such as suggesting that the train move using it's own engine, not cattle. He is somehow related to the Head Crusher in Quartz, as he asks the Rangers to deliver a Visa card to him.
He died in 2090.
