Detached Security Turret is a heavy machine gun in Wasteland 3: Cult of the Holy Detonation.

Description[]

Ripped out of its machine network, this turret gazes wistfully at you, eager to fire a fuckton of searing hot laser beams directly into your face.

Characteristics[]

This weapon has no critical strike associated with it, so strike rate is irrelevant.

"Firing" this weapon immediately ends that Ranger's turn regardless how many AP they have left, and the weapon will actually fire at the start of next turn.

Despite preinstalled Energy damage, it is possible to convert this weapon to other damage types (Fire, Cold or Explosive) by using the appropriate damage type conversion mods. This won't add a second damage type but replace the originally installed Energy damage.

Shortened Barrel Icon Mod ShortenedBarrel alongside with Toxic Linkage Icon Mod ToxicLinkage or Crippling Linkage Icon Mod CripplingLinkage or Razor Linkage Icon Mod RazorLinkage mods can almost triple this weapon's damage, giving the weapon 43 - 49 x14 (602 - 686) damage per attack, at the cost of -10% Hit chance.

Damage can be farther increased from various bonuses. Also Energy damage provide +99 Armor penetration, which negates target's armor completely.

Energy damage maximization example

Applying all bonuses (+28 Damage +93% Ranged damage +65% Energy damage) leads to the following result:

  • 136 - 156 x14 (1904 - 2184) damage in weapon stats.

In fact damage will vary depending on a target:

  • 176 - 202 x14 (2464 - 2828) damage against mechanic targets (+30% Damage).
  • 95 - 109 x14 (1330 - 1526) damage against organic targets (-30% Damage).
Fire damage maximization example

Applying all bonuses (+20 Damage +50% Ranged damage +125% Fire damage) leads to the following result:

  • 118 - 138 x14 (1652 - 1932) damage in weapon stats.

In fact damage will vary depending on a target:

  • 153 - 179 x14 (2142 - 2506) damage against organic targets (+30% Damage).
  • 82 - 96 x14 (1148 - 1344) damage against mechanic targets (-30% Damage).
Cold damage maximization example

Applying all bonuses (+20 Damage +83% Ranged damage +60% Cold damage) leads to the following result:

  • 102 - 120 x14 (1428 - 1680) damage in weapon stats.

In fact damage will vary depending on a target:

  • 132 - 156 x14 (1848 - 2184) damage against organic targets (+30% Damage).
