The Killer Clowns are a Florida faction and major antagonists in Fountain of Dreams.

History[]

Appeared from a group of clowns stuck on tour during the war.

Clowns began to travel around Miami, in search of a new home. Soon they manage to find a pre-war military base, where they began to live.

However, the clowns quickly began to mutate and go crazy. This was especially reflected in the head of the big top - the famous clown Kermit Eli. Some clowns believe that Kermit Eli went insane faster than others because of the death of his wife, Chloe.

As a result, he created Slap-Fu, taught clowns how to use and make grenades and machine guns, built a powerful dictatorship on the island.

Kermit's children eventually became just as crazy and obsessed with death as their father. Willie has become completely addicted to fire, and loves anything fire-related: lighters and flamethrowers. Kiwi, Willie's daughter and Kermit's granddaughter, became even more violent. She secretly took power from the hands of her grandfather and subjugated all the clowns. Those clowns that didn't go insane were killed in the torture, and Joey was the only survivor.

Background[]

The Clowns have perverted the slapstick humor of their forefathers, taking its feigned violence literally, and expanding it into the martial art Slap-Fu. These predatory Pierrots roam the island, extending the power of their ancient but still dangerous founder, Kermit Eli, and his demented family. The Clowns are extremely secretive, and their pantomime communication with each other is impenetrable to outsiders. They are highly skilled in the use any kind of weapon, and unusually fond of the bizarre, such as steel-toed flap shoes, rubber chickens stuffed with ball bearings, spike-studded brickbats, and seltzer bottles filled with acid.[1]

After the Change, clowns became the fear of the entire island. Their head Kermit created their Slap-Fu martial art and organized them. His granddaughter Kiwi is prone to genocide and sets out to destroy all of Florida with the meaning of her life.

Soon the Clowns were defeated by unknown travelers led by the main characters. After, based on the cluebook, the Clowns became peaceful. Now every autumn they put on performances in their circus - and do not touch the locals.
