Lancer is an assault rifle in Wasteland 3.
Description[]
This futuristic-looking assault rifle is unlike anything you've seen in the wasteland before. The chainsaw doesn't work - looks like it's got a cog loose.
Characteristics[]
Despite preinstalled Explosive damage, it is possible to convert this weapon to other damage types (Fire, Cold or Energy) by using the appropriate damage type conversion mods. This won't add a second damage type but replace the originally installed Explosive damage.
Damage can be increased from various bonuses. Also Explosive damage provide +99 Armor penetration, which negates target's armor completely.

Trivia[]
- The Lancer is a reference to the Gears of War franchise assault rifle of the same name[1], sharing its design, but lacking its chainsaw functionality.
- The section of the description of the rifle where the chainsaw is mentioned to not work, "looks like it's got a cog loose." is a reference to the protagonist faction of the franchise: the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG).
- When the Lancer is acquired from the world map encounter the text description says that the case that it is stored in is marked with the name "Fenix". This is a reference which implies that it is the Lancer of the main character of the Gears of War games: Marcus Fenix.
