Lucia Wesson

Lucia Wesson is a recruitable character in Wasteland 3. She is the daughter of Percival Wesson and Maria Reyes of the Hundred Families.

Background[]

Lucia was born into one of the Hundred Families, the ruling elite of Colorado Springs. Her father, a prominent supporter of the Patriarch, expected his children to excel at everything they did. Lucia embraced this perfectionism, and became one of the best shooters in all of Colorado Springs - though she hasn't actually been in battle yet. She has the manners and deportment of someone twice her age, but Lucia is still young, and has led a sheltered life, making her notions of the world somewhat naive and idealistic.

She joins the Rangers in their attack on the remnants of the Dorseys holed up in the Garden of the Gods, hoping to find her family, taken hostage by the Dorseys. She is unaware that there is a bigger game afoot that will start turning the idealist into a cynic.

Companion[]

Lucia is the second companion after Marshal Kwon, available as early as Downtown Colorado Springs, and offers to join when you accept Cornered Rats. She's a Gunslinger by background and specced towards a supporting ranged character.
With her natural +5% strike rate bonus, she can be turned into a terrifyingly effective sniper: Combine the Red Ryder Range Model Air Rifle (+20% rate), her bonus, and 10 Charisma (+26% rate), to reach a 51% strike rate, filling the bar with just two attacks. With 10 Coordination and either the Well Fed status or Star of Bravery /Anabolic Injector trinkets, she also gets 12 AP per round, allowing her to make critical strikes two turns in a row, with one reserved for refilling the bar (two normal attacks in turn 1, critical strike and normal attack in turn 2, normal attack and critical strike in turn 3).
For those who prefer to keep her as a gunslinger, she can be specced to make critical strikes every four attacks by reaching +34% strike rate. This can be achieved by using her natural bonus (+5%) with the Opportunist perk (Small Guns tree, +5% when using handguns) and 9 Charisma. This requires 7 points invested in Charisma, and can be combined with the above method for getting 12 AP to allow her to fill up the bar and get two critical strikes with 3 AP handguns every three turns. A more modest handgun build requires 5 Charisma and the Small Guns perk, putting her at +26% strike rate.

Quests[]

Cornered Rats: Lucia accompanies you into the Garden of the Gods and faces the reality of the Dorsey coup. You can decide whether to start turning her into a merciless killer or to pick the difficult, high road of serving justice. At the end of the quest, you can choose whether to retain her or dismiss her.
Frontier Justice: after dealing with the Garden of the Gods situation and letting Lucia stay within the squad, she requests that Team November aid her in tracking down and exacting judgment upon Nelius Dorsey, who was responsible for the attack on Colorado Springs.
Daddy's Little Secret: having learned from Nelius Dorsey the whereabouts of her father and a reason as to why the Colorado Springs massacre happened in the first place, Lucia intends to face her family's past, leading to a difficult decision she'd need the Rangers' help making.
