Description[]
The American mainstay battle rifle. Great for knocking over petty dictators the whole world over.
Characteristics[]
The weapon alerts enemies (generates noise) in a 27 unit radius.
The best early-to-midgame assault rifle, can be acquired as soon as Team Echo gains access into the Citadel. It does more damage per shot than bullpup sniper rifle and is capable of burst fire, making it one of the most powerful guns you can acquire until you reach Los Angeles. Every other assault rifle you can encounter in this part of the game (HK33 , M4 , even AK-47 which you can get in the Canyon of Titan) doesn't quite surpass M16.
As of the Director's Cut, it still retains its deadly power and availability, but its parameters, while increased, have also been made more balanced compared to the other guns of its tier (it no longer surpasses sniper rifles in terms of damage).
