It's the Hispanic Heritage Month at FANDOM! It's worth noting that Wasteland, 33 years ago, was one of the first games to allow players to create Hispanic characters with the nationality selection. What's more, the starting Hispanic character, Snake Vargas, eventually became one of the most important movers and shakers of the Arizona wasteland, saving the world twice over as a Desert Ranger! If you're interested in learning more about Hispanic heritage and how it's featured in modern entertainment, join the official Fandom HHM Discord server!

Mysterious statues are tributes to Kickstarter backers erected by the inXile team in various locations across the wasteland. Unlike mysterious shrines, each statue gives one (1) skill point unless otherwise noted.

Image Location Description
WL2 Cat statue.png
Radio tower: Inside a cave on the northern end. The corpses of birds and mice, in various stages of mutilation, have been meticulously laid out, limbs and half-torsos placed with ritual precision in a complex pattern, encircling this statue of a cat.
WL2 Statue Chuklin.png
Highpool: On the top of the dam, at the base of the eastern canyon wall. A statue of a man carrying a motorcycle helmet. A plaque on the base read, "Alexey Chuklin, Hero of Highpool, We are forever in your debt."
WL2 Tidemann Statue.png
Ranger Citadel: In the museum. This statue shows the back of a head with three tentacles instead of a body, each gripping a stiletto knife; the opposite side of the head shows the same. A plaque at the base says "[i]A Ranger[-]. In the year of who-the-fuck-cares, Erik Tidemann."
WL2 Benchpress.png
Wrecking Crew stronghold: Near the back, next to the tents. This statue looks like it could bench press itself.
WL2 Obelisk.png
Darwin village This obelisk looks like it was moved here, carefully, from somewhere else. "Life is a Dream of a Butterfly." has been scratched into the stone, crudely, but orderly.
Obelisk Prison.png
Prison: Near the honey badgers, easternmost canyon. Carved into the obelisk are the words, "Here once and forgotten since."
WL2 MS Rats.png
Rail Nomads camp: Near the train car wall, next to the town hall. None. Using Animal Whisperer on the statue will spawn a rat and grant the Secret of NIMH bonus.
WL2 Statue Canyon.png
Canyon of Titan: Up the ladder from the wiped-out Outpost 2. A figure of a fellow foisting a flat, finned... creature? It's foreign to your faculties, but it looks fucking fabulously flavorful!
