Neutron Projector is a tier 5 energy weapon in Wasteland 2.
For the Neutron Projector in other Wasteland games, see Neutron Projector. |
Description[]
Neutrons are great, they kill people without breaking stuff.
Characteristics[]
Energy weapons cannot jam or inflict Critical Hits, but deal bonus damage to targets with Conductive Armor.
Armor Damage Multipliers | |
---|---|
Conductive | 2.4x |
Non-Conductive | 0.6x |
The weapon alerts enemies (generates noise) in a 20 unit radius.
Arguably the most cost-effective energy weapon in the game (apart from the semi-secret gamma ray blaster, of course), with high damage-to-AP ratio, decent Armor Threshold of 5 (making it always do maximum damage to end-game enemies) and range on par with most assault and even some sniper rifles. While the Death ray does much more damage per shot, its drawbacks might encourage one to stick to this gun instead.
The Director's Cut neutron projector is still the handiest energy weapon a Ranger can get, but the conductivity mechanics make it far less of a universal solution for most of the LA encounters. It works like a charm on workerbots, synths and heavily armored enemies... and that's about it. All those meaty foes with 5+ armor that were a potential target before no longer apply.
