Pulsar is a shotgun in Wasteland 3.

Description[]

It holds and kicks like a shotgun, but it turns energy cells into blasts of superheated plasma.

Characteristics[]

Despite preinstalled Energy damage, it is possible to convert this weapon to other damage types (Fire, Cold or Explosive) by using the appropriate damage type conversion mods. This won't add a second damage type but replace the originally installed Energy damage.

Damage can be increased from various bonuses. Also Energy damage provide +99 Armor penetration, which negates target's armor completely.

Energy damage maximization example

Applying all bonuses (+8 Damage +93% Ranged damage +65% Energy damage) leads to the following result:

  • 159 - 219 x2 (318 - 438) damage in weapon stats.

In fact damage will vary depending on a target:

  • 206 - 284 x2 (412 - 568) damage against mechanic targets (+30% Damage).
  • 111 - 153 x2 (222 - 306) damage against organic targets (-30% Damage).
Fire damage maximization example

Applying all bonuses (+50% Ranged damage +125% Fire damage) leads to the following result:

  • 141 - 205 x2 (282 - 410) damage in weapon stats.

In fact damage will vary depending on a target:

  • 183 - 266 x2 (366 - 532) damage against organic targets (+30% Damage).
  • 98 - 143 x2 (196 - 286) damage against mechanic targets (-30% Damage).
Cold damage maximization example

Applying all bonuses (+83% Ranged damage +60% Cold damage) leads to the following result:

  • 122 - 178 x2 (244 - 356) damage in weapon stats.

In fact damage will vary depending on a target:

  • 158 - 231 x2 (316 - 462) damage against organic targets (+30% Damage).
  • 85 - 124 x2 (170 - 248) damage against mechanic targets (-30% Damage).
Explosive damage maximization example
Applying all bonuses (+50% Ranged damage +95% Explosive damage) leads to the following result:
  • 122 - 178 x2 (244 - 356) damage against all types of targets.
