Ripper is a submachine gun in Wasteland 3.

Description[]

The rate-of-fire for this experimental machine pistol is so high that the vibrations can numb your hand in seconds.

Characteristics[]

The most powerful weapon in .45 ammo caliber, outclasses even PDW-01. However, it consumes ammo too quickly.

Shortened Barrel Icon Mod ShortenedBarrel alongside with Toxic Linkage Icon Mod ToxicLinkage or Crippling Linkage Icon Mod CripplingLinkage or Razor Linkage Icon Mod RazorLinkage mods can almost double this weapon's damage, giving the weapon 56 - 65 x10 (560 - 650) damage per attack, at the cost of -10% Hit chance.

Damage can be farther increased by using damage type conversion mods, making this weapon to benefit from various bonuses, as well as +99 Armor penetration, which negates target's armor completely. Status effects will also be easily applied due to the large number of attempts per attack.

Physical damage maximization example
Applying all bonuses (+28 Damage +93% Ranged damage) leads to the following result:
  • 108 - 125 x10 (1080 - 1250) damage in weapon stats.
    The damage dealt to targets will depend on the armor they are wearing and the armor penetration rate on your character.
Fire damage maximization example

Applying all bonuses (+20 Damage +50% Ranged damage +125% Fire damage) leads to the following result:

  • 162 - 192 x10 (1620 - 1920) damage in weapon stats.

In fact damage will vary depending on a target:

  • 210 - 249 x10 (2100 - 2490) damage against organic targets (+30% Damage).
  • 113 - 134 x10 (1130 - 1340) damage against mechanic targets (-30% Damage).
Cold damage maximization example

Applying all bonuses (+20 Damage +83% Ranged damage +60% Cold damage) leads to the following result:

  • 140 - 166 x10 (1400 - 1660) damage in weapon stats.

In fact damage will vary depending on a target:

  • 182 - 215 x10 (1820 - 2150) damage against organic targets (+30% Damage).
  • 98 - 116 x10 (980 - 1160) damage against mechanic targets (-30% Damage).

  • Rather unusually for the series, this weapons is modeled after a rare and very modern Russian submachine gun, PP-2000[1], which was developed by the KBP Tula and was intended for law enforcement and special operations use, but found very limited adoption.
