The weapon alerts enemies (generates noise) in a 39 unit radius.
The player is likely to first encounter an SR2000-Argent in the Canyon of Titan. If the player has not purchased the Bullpup Sniper Rifle from Tobias Melson, this weapon represents a major upgrade over the G43-W or Karabiner. The weapon's 2% chance to jam means that it can be reduced to 0% through attachment of the High capacity mag, which will give it a round capacity of 19, the second highest round capacity for a sniper rifle in the game (not counting the Red Ryder BB Gun).
However, along with the AK-47 found slightly earlier in the Canyon, it is likely to be the first weapon the player encounters requiring 7.62mm ammo, and as it is not a meaningful improvement over the Bullpup Sniper Rifle and is arguably worse than the M24, it can usually be stripped for parts like the excellent Suppressor or Long barrel.
