Swim is a skill in Wasteland.

Overview[ | ]

The desert sands don’t blanket the entire earth. This will come in hand in those spots where you have to swim. Essential in the wastes of Florida.

Wasteland[ | ]

  1. One mandatory use is in the Temple of Blood during the Needles quest, to get to the inner sanctum. You must swim across the surrounding moat, or (more likely) take drowning damage.
  2. The other mandatory use is to cross the sewage stream in the sewers under Las Vegas.
  3. Two other areas bear mention. One is the swimming pool in the Stage Coach Inn in Quartz, and the other is what appears to be the Colorado River on the main map. Note that the river will sweep you south.

Fountain of Dreams[ | ]

Despite all the topics with the need to be able to swim in Florida (for example, this is mentioned in the manual), this is of little use in all situations, at least due to the fact that there are very few bodies of water in the game, about two or three for the whole game.

This skill is present in Imelda and Granny Astor. It can also be learned by reading one of the books in the DeSoto compound.
