It's the Hispanic Heritage Month at FANDOM! It's worth noting that Wasteland, 33 years ago, was one of the first games to allow players to create Hispanic characters with the nationality selection. What's more, the starting Hispanic character, Snake Vargas, eventually became one of the most important movers and shakers of the Arizona wasteland, saving the world twice over as a Desert Ranger! If you're interested in learning more about Hispanic heritage and how it's featured in modern entertainment, join the official Fandom HHM Discord server!

The Topekans are one of the constituent tribes of the Rail Nomads. They are the richest of the rail nomad tribes, handling the trains and driving them through Arizona's expansive rail network. However, in recent years, the Topekans have suffered in the wake of a major train crash, where it derailed and cost Kekkabah his arm. The Topekans blamed the Atchisons for improper rail maintenance, the Atchisons retaliated by blaming poor brake maintenance on the Topekan parts. The relations deteriorated until the two were at each other's throats. Topekans managed to banish Atchisons from the camp, which forsed Casey James and his people to resort to a guerrilla campaign.

Their most cherished possession is the Golden Spike, a golden railway spike, the symbol of their tribe and said to be given to them by John Henry himself. The Atchisons dispute that narrative.
