Wasteland 2 is a possible future sequel to Wasteland.
In 2003, InXile (founded by Wasteland's producer, Brian Fargo) acquired the rights to Wasteland from Electronic Arts.
On June 21, 2007, Brian Fargo said, "I am indeed looking into bringing back the game that spawned the Fallout series. Stay tuned...." in an interview with fan site Duck and Cover.[1]
Given that InXile previously published a new Bard's Tale game titled simply "Bard's Tale", it's likely that if this game is ever released, it will also be simply called "Wasteland".
