Weaponsmithing is a skill in Wasteland 2.

Characteristics[ | ]

Weaponsmithing allows you to install and remove weapon modifications. You may also use it to strip a weapon down, potentially gaining a useful mod in the process.

Increasing skill level allows to strip better parts from high tier weapons, increases your chance to safely remove a mod and increases the amount of broken weapon parts that you get, when you get any.

Bugs[ | ]

As of Director's Cut build 97264 a bug[1] significantly increases the chance of getting broken parts, when attempting weapon stripping. This can be fixed with an unofficial patch.[2] Update: the bug in Director's Cut actually reduces the chance of getting weapon modifications, in favor of getting broken parts.[3] Also, the first two references have expired, as the inXile forum has closed.[3] The unofficial patch can be found on NexusMods.[4]
